Jeffrey
Koziol
is

eye
surgeon,
teacher,
inventor,
and
research
scientist.
He
holds
eight
patents
on
devices
and
lenses
used
in
eye
surgery,
including
an
intraocular
lens
implant
used
in
cataract
surgery
and
an
Excimer
laser
patent
used
in
LASIK
surgery.
He
has
published
many
articles
in
professional
journals,
has
contributed
chapters
to
two
major
books
in
the
field,
and
has
been
featured
on
television
news
segments.
He
has
been
involved
in
Chicago
Lasik
Surgery
for
over
10

Dr.Koziol graduated
magna cum laude
from the University
of Wisconsin in
1970 and then attended
the University of
Illinois Medical
School. He completed
his internship at
Hennepin County
Hospital in Minneapolis
and his residency
training at the
University of Illinois
Eye and Ear Infirmary.
He has been in private
practice since 1980..
A medical staff
member at Northwest
Community Hospital
in Arlington Heights,
Dr. Koziol specializes
in LASIK and cataract
surgery. He has
performed over three
thousand LASIK procedures
and has had refractive
surgery himself.
Efforts to further
his medical education
and training have
allowed him to bring
new technology to
his patients and
have improved overall
patient care and
safety.

Dr.
Monica
Thoms
is certified
by the
American
Board
of Ophthalmology
and
is a
Fellow
of the
American
College
of Surgeons.
She
specializes
in cataract
surgery
and
LASIK,
but
also
provides
general
medical
eye
care
services.
She
has
been
involved
with
Chicago
Lasik
Surgery
for
5 years.
After
graduating
magna
cum
laude
from
the
University
of Notre
Dame
in 1978,
Dr.
Thoms
completed
her
medical
training
at the
University
of Illinois
Medical
School
in Chicago.
Her
internship
at Emanuel
Hospital
in Portland,
Oregon,
was
followed
by a
three-year
residency
in the
Michael
Reese
Hospital/
University
of Chicago
residency

Dr. Julie Carlson
is a therapeutically
recognized optometrist.
Dr. Carlson, Salutatorian
of her graduating
class at the New
England College
of Optometry, has
completed post-doctoral
training in the
medical management
of eye disease.
She has extensive
experience in contact
lenses, including
bifocals and lenses
for patients with
astigmatism.

| Dr Geiger |
Meghan Geiger O.D. joined us in November of 2003 after relocating to Chicago from Columbus Ohio. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry. She then participated in medical research at the Harvard affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston before returning to the midwest to pursue her doctorate of optometry at Ohio State University. During her optometric education, Dr Geiger completed rotations in ocular disease at the Omni Eye Center in Atlanta, and family eye care and contact lenses in Sandusky Ohio. |

Dr Geiger graduated from Ohio State Magna Cum Laude and earned membership in both the Beta Sigma Kappa and the Gold Key national optometric honor societies. She is a current member of the Illinois Optometric Association and is eager to provide care in the areas of ocular disease, pediatric exams, and contact lens fitting and evaluation. |
